The Harley-Davidson 22nd Annual Halloween Witch Ride to Salem!
Proceeds from the 3000 motorcycles went to benefit Muscular Dystrophy. The ride through Derby Street took about an hour and many mobile units of New England's Finest were represented. Many local riders and clubs came out in force to support their fellow riders. The were all dressed up in leathers and team jackets. It was pretty cool.
Also represented was a collection of great costumed riders. I missed Bert and Ernie, I'm still kicking myself.

The event was, as you might have guessed, incredibly loud. The protesters against drilling holes in the pipes were out in force next to, duh, the supporters for loud cycles. The argument is that cycles are small enough that they're not easily seen, so they need to be loud on highways. In a residential area, however, I completely disagree.
Still, for the sake of the parade, it was fun. You can imagine how quiet these guys were when traffic got hung up at the protester's corner.
The best part for me, tho, was the numbers of sidekicks taking video and pictures from the backseat. It was obviously as much a kick for them as it was for us!
More pics are here and below is a short video of the event. See if you can find the following:
- Captain America
- Super-guy
- A gorilla driven bananas
- Woody and Jessie
Totally cool... but coolest is YOU, obviously positioning yourself with easy access to the Salem Beer Works!!! I have taught you well, grasshopper!
