Pottery Update!

Last night was the last class for this sessions "Intermediate Pottery" course at Claydreaming in Beverly.  I took home my first piece that actually looked and came out exactly as I wanted.  Often I'll make something, and it will shrink too small, or I'll put what I think is a good glaze combination but ends up turning into a hideous situation.  Below is a small collection of what I'm kinda proud of.  :)

A small vase:  7" tall, but the one that sparked this post.

Tealight holder

Small Jar: holds exactly one pound of coffee

My first attempt at a pitcher.  So here's a picture.  :)

A mistake that turned into something fun.

A yarn bowl: keeps your yarn from rolling away as you unwind it.
There's more in the kiln... this is such a wonderful hobby.  It's relaxing, it's frustrating, it's surprising... and it's very rewarding.  The people have really made this a nifty experience- it's so refreshing to meet people from various backgrounds.  Stay tuned for a blog about the pottery people's personalities.  They make some amazing stuff.

  1. This stuff is gorgeous! John and I are both so impressed! We're especially in awe of the coffee cannister. How do you make the lid fit so smoothly?
