Two weekends ago my day started with a much needed haircut and subsequent walk around Salem. Naturally, I bumped into a small Minuteman infantry. I mean, of course I would, right?
I follwed them to Culturefest 2011 on the Common, where I met a fantastical creature, most unexpected.
Her name was Op. And her motions were smooth and gentle. Although she scared the bejeezus out of more common four-legged friend. A younger boy came up to Op, and she left him a small gift. Inside the egg was a silly band.
After touring the festival, I slowly made my way to Attleboro to check on my godson's growing progress. He's become quite chatty, and extremely opinionated. He'd been coming off a fever, so he was understandably grouchy. He was still super cute, tho. And it was great to see E&M.

Asa's also developped some hysterical and very adult mannerisms. Such as holding his hands behind his back while pondering a course of action. Or just standing and waiting for something. Sometimes I swear I can see the 7 year old inside the toddler.
I was also completely taken by the kiddie toys and support items in the house. The froggy potty?? So Cute!! And seeing a childhood favorite of mine ressurected was a real treat. I think I love it more than Asa. I turned into a toddler on the spot.
Of course, while I was reminiscing, Asa was busy preparing for college and packing the car.
Of course, I had to go with. Don't ask me how I got in there. It was a complicated process.
Asa was less than amused...he was downright concerned, really. Hopefully he'll forget before he turns three. :) The day ended with yet another foodie treat. ALMOST as good as seeded watermelon- ROOT BEER POPSICLES! There was an ice cream shop in Acton that used to sell all the popsicle flavors sorted in bins, and we ate root beers all the time. Now, sadly, we're left with finding the 2 that come in the multi-flavored box, hidden amongst the banana and blue raspberry.
More pics of our boy are here. Look for the video of Asa kissing his Auntie's boo boo sweetly.
What a great day! Too bad you couldn't bring Op to visit Asa! Love the law abiding Minute Men!
