VACATION!!!!

I would like to direct your attention to the weather widget to the right of this post.  You may not notice anything out of the ordinary until you see that it says "St. Martin, FRANCE".  Yes, I'm going to France.  Which means the temperature is actually in degrees Celsius.  I'll let you ponder that for just a moment.

All set?  So, let's recap.  First, I'M GOING TO FRANCE (and also the Netherlands!).  Second, IT'S A TROPICAL ISLAND!!  Who goes to a tropical island these days?  Third, it's 80 DEGREES AND SUNNY!!!  Or 80 degrees and night, depending on when you read this post.

Jeff has very VERY (very?) generously set us both up with tickets for this dreamy winter vacation.  It started as his way to head off his seasonal affective disorder and he swears it works.  He's been threatening me with this for months, and now we're leaving!  I'm so thrilled to get out of the country.  This will be my first international flight since 1997.  I am absurdly excited, haven't done a stitch of work all week except try to brush up on my high school french (Je voudrais une boutille de vin rouge, s'il vous plait") and locate various beaches (la plage), nude beaches (la plage nudiste), zoos (la zoo) and restaurants (les restaurants) near our pool house apartment (casa d'agua).  I'm sure I'll crash just in time for my 4am taxi ride to the airport.

I will return on Sunday.  I may update while I'm gone, but it depends on the quality of internet, the snorkeling, the horseback riding, the food, the weather... Hell, I may just stay there.  :)
