Sleepy-Time Smoothie

We're entering cold and flu season, and on that subject, Lifehacker posted this fun and original Instructible to sneak some bitter-tasting cold medicine to the unwilling.  Between the drugs and the ice cream, I don't know which would make me feel better.  :)

From Lifehacker:
Although pharmaceutical companies try to make their products at least mildly palatable, you'll probably never love the taste of medicine. Instructables user bajablue wasn't willing to give up, however, and figured out a recipe for a tasty, Nyquil-based smoothie. What's inside? Here's the recipe:

1 tablespoon / dose cup of Nyquil
1 piece spearmint Candy
2 tablespoons of water
Vanilla ice cream
Cool Whip frozen topping
Chocolate sauce
1 strawberry

Melt the spearmint candy in water in the microwave, mix it with the Nyquil, chill the mixture in the freezer, and then blend it with the vanilla ice cream. The Cool Whip, strawberry, and chocolate sauce serve as toppings. If you or someone you know is particularly adverse to the taste of medicine, or you have a kid that simply won't take it, this is certainly a more pleasant alternative.

  1. When Eliza was a toddler, I could only get her to take Amoxycillin by drizzling it over vanilla icecream and calling it a sundae!
