Wind at the Willows

I love a good storm!  So naturally, when work kicked us out early, I headed straight for high tide at the Salem Willows.  I missed it by about 2 hours, but I made it before the rain started and snapped some fun pictures with my roommate, Sarah.  I hope the rest of you faired as well as we did- as far as I know we never lost power (I believe some in Salem did, according to Twitter), and thankfully the tree in the backyard had the good sense to shed it's leaves before the wind picked up.  Sadly, many beautiful trees in the neighborhood didn't do so well.

Sarah braces herself against the walkway- the wind was incredible!

Poor tree...

There were actually loads of people enjoying the weather-
the rain hadn't started and the kids were having fun in the big winds!

Sarah was having lots of fun.

Grabbed this shot just as the rain picked up.  I was soaked through in seconds, and combined
with the winds the drops REALLY hurt.
I have a lot of respect for fishermen who weather storms like these.
