An unexpected road trip

Due to a week of family drama (typical he said/she said stuff, a few angry words, a few rants, and definitely a few drinks), an unexpected road trip as come up.  Grandma needs to get to her house in Stewiacke, Nova Scotia, about 11 hours from my house in Salem.  After many calls to siblings from numerous family members, nobody volunteered to make the trip with me (except Dad, who could only go as far as the border, since he doesn't have a passport).  Nobody, that is, until Eliza made a very unexpected and generous offer to come along.

We leave tomorrow at 6:30 am for the great white north, with plans to return SATURDAY NIGHT.  This will be interesting.  I'm hopeful this works out, although sometime soon I'd really like to spend some time up there.  But I'm incredibly grateful for Eliza's company (not to mention her car's air conditioning!). Thank you, Eliza!!  I'm really touched.

As for the rest of you, stay tuned for the story!

  2. My mother-in-law always encouraged us to "travel when you are still young". Now my back hurts and there is dealing with the stress of travel when one gets into one's 60's and other health issues start. So,I really enjoy seeing your pictures and commentary- quite a funky looking hat you have on. One of my favorite places is Yosemite, CA though.
