The house is still a work in progress, but we were under the gun because the season's first renters arrive this Friday. So we did some housekeeping, and had lots of fun too. After meeting Eliza at the boat, we got down to business... enjoying some wine on the deck.
The next day was spent cleaning, painting, repairing and doing whatever else needed to be done. Kohta tried to figure out the ice maker. We DID figure out some magical looking drawers. We admired Ren's amazing woodwork in the master bedroom (and everywhere else). I took notes on the paint colors and painted things that were high. We ate brownies and oven smores and drank a little bit (sic). At some point everyone escaped to an afternoon nap, and of course, it's not a party until somebody kicks a drill and needs 4 stitches.
Poor Eliza. And poor Asa who was diapered backwards by his loving Aunt Jessica while Mummy was at the clinic. :)
Speaking of Asa, he's damned cute. He was happy (mostly) and giggly and playful... he's awesome.
Things picked up after dinner, expertly prepared by Sarah and Kohta, followed by the funniest game of Uno...EVER. Joey (I beg your pardon... JOE...) came by with his friend Brad, and we made up rules as the game was played. The rules included:
- You must speak in an accent.
- You must make a face (that is not your own face) when you make eye contact.
- If you're a girl and are dealt a "draw 4", you must sing "I'm a little teapot".
- If you're a boy and are dealt a "draw 4", you must propose to another boy in the game.
- If you win you must eat a brownie in 20 seconds.
Sunday we got a tour of the island, and took a long walk to the North Light.
Marcey and I did some shopping, got some postcards, ice cream, taffy, fun island stuff, and took the ferry back to America. I particularly liked this guy and his dog:
More fun photos are located here. They're highly recommended- lots of really fun pics of the weekend's shenanigans. Enjoy!!
Oh my... what a lot to absorb! My daughter has stitches in her toe, my elder daughter has forgotten how to diaper... Sarah has become adept enough in the kitchen to assist chef Kohta... not much info about Jacob or you. We love the photo of the new house...first we've seen which truly shows the overall look of the place.
ReplyDeleteI did **NOT** forget how to diaper! Diapers have gotten WAY too complicated. **I** was not consulted about diaper engineering. ;)
ReplyDeleteGrin.... with the cloth ones, the "this side up" bleaches out after a while!
ReplyDeleteThe UNO video is hysterical. Thanks so much!
